Expanded “Welcome to Trempealeau County” Campaign Returns in 2022

“Whether you are a first time visitor or someone who has been here many times, you will find new reasons at every turn to keep coming back.”

Trempealeau County, WI (April 2022): An expanded  “Welcome to Trempealeau County” marketing campaign is being launched this month, funded by the Destination Marketing Organizations grant program, which is funded by the Federal American Rescue Plan act.

Trempealeau County has attracted new visitors with recent campaigns and grants, including in 2020, when the county received a Tourism Relief to Accelerate Vitality and Economic Lift (TRAVEL) stimulus grant which it used to unveil the “Welcome to Trempealeau County” campaign. The campaign’s initial focus was on promoting outdoor recreation that allowed for social distancing and encouraged the welcoming feel of the area.

“While other communities across the state and nation saw sharp declines in tourism activity, Trempealeau County saw virtually no drop-off in visitors,” said Dave Carlson, Trempealeau County Tourism Director.

Potential visitors are invited to take time to have fun in the beautiful natural landscape of Trempealeau County, including the unique terrain of hills, valleys, rock outcroppings, and waterways which makes it the perfect place to enjoy outdoor recreation. Outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, and canoeing are complemented by welcoming communities where visitors can experience historic architecture, independent shops, and locally owned dining establishments.

“The breath-taking beauty of Trempealeau County, and our small villages and cities, full of friendly people, fun festivals, and unique shops beckon travelers from throughout the region,” said Carlson. “Whether you are a first time visitor or someone who has been here many times, you will find new reasons at every turn to keep coming back.”
